If I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning, I’d hammer in the evening, All over this land!

At St Hugh’s we do a lot more than just hammer. Sometimes, however, we do that too! We aim to:

• develop imaginative thinking in children and enable them to draw and model their ideas
• encourage children to select appropriate tools, materials and techniques for making a product whilst following safe procedures
• explore attitudes towards the made world and how we live and work within it
• develop an appreciation of quality
• foster enjoyment, satisfaction and purpose in designing and making.
  

Our DT rooms are sunny, large and well equipped thus enabling children to use a wide range of tools, materials and resources, including ICT. Standards are high and we take great pride in our work.
