Movement of the Earth causes apparent movement of other bodies, the role of gravity in keeping bodies in orbit the planets of the Solar System moons as satellites the phases of the Moon, the Universe, galaxies, history of manned space travel, artificial satellites & their uses.

Reversible & Irreversible Changes

Properties of materials, changes during manufacturing processes, rusting, combustion, tests for water and carbon dioxide, use of Bunsen burner, environmental consequences of use of fossil fuels.

Solutions and Separation Techniques

 

Conservation of mass in the formation of a solution, saturated solutions, solubility, separation techniques; filtration, evaporation, treatment of drinking water, paper chromatography of felt pen inks using water as a solvent and plant extracts using alcohol or propanone as a solvent, simple distillation, Liebig condenser.
