Development Projects supported by the Centenary Development Fund

LATEST NEWS...

St Hugh's All Weather PitchThe All-Weather pitch has now been built thanks to the generosity of our donors. This excellent new facility was opened in November 2008 by the three Olympic gold medallists who won the Yngling sailing class.

We are delighted to announce the completion of The Barn performing arts re-development. The work was carried out during the summer holidays and completed for the start of the autumn term 2009. This super facility is already being used for the teaching of drama, for orchestra and choir rehearsals, for assemblies, for visiting speakers and has also provided an excellent venue for social events for new parents.

Very excitingly, rehearsals have started for a major production of the musical 'Oliver', to be performed in the Spring Term 2010, and (on a different level!) staff recently performed a Christmas pantomime, 'Snow White' for the entertainment of pupils and parents, at the end of the Autumn Term 2009.

We are extremely grateful for the generosity of parents and former parents and pupils which, added to the generous allocation of funds by the Governors, has enabled us to complete this project so quickly.

Development of Outdoor Facilities adjacent to Pre-Prep and Middle School

This year Development Fund Raising will be focused on the development of the outside area around the Pre-Prep and Middle School, in order both to take learning outside the classroom and to provide a stimulating and interesting play area. Plans are at an early stage but will be published soon.

If you would like to support the new development project, please contact Suzy Robinson or email: development@st-hughs.co.uk for further information.
