An outstanding year for St Hugh's...

At the end of the summer term 2010, we maintained our strong scholarship record with thireteen scholarships being awarded to a range of first rate schools: Bloxham, Cheltenham, Cheltenham Ladies' college, Marlborough, Pangbourne and St Edward's. In addition, our pupils achieved the best ever Common Entrance results and the continuation of our 100% success rate in this exam; and perhaps most significantly of all, we received an outstanding inspection report from the ISI, which has been sent out to all parents and which can also be downloaded here: St Hugh's ISI Inspection Report 2010.

During the summer holidays, we developed a brand new Nursery for three year olds, which was opened on the first day of the autumn term 2010 and is a fantastic facility for  our youngest pupils.

We also began the development of  the outside education area adjacent to Pre-Prep and Middle School, in order to take learning outside the classroom and also to provide a stimulating and exciting play area. This first stage included an outdoor classroom, a giant sand pit, a new water feature and a mosiac pathway, which is much enjoyed by all our pupils. The next stage of this area will be the creation of an ampitheatre,  which will commence during the Easter holdiays 2011.

The recently built All-Weather pitch continues to provide exceSt Hugh's All Weather Pitchllent facilities for sport throughout the year and the completion of The Barn performing arts re-development has provided us with a super facility for the teaching of drama, for orchestra and choir rehearsals, for assemblies, for visiting speakers and has also provided an excellent venue for social events for parents.
