Wednesday 16th - Girls' Hockey v Dragon - 3rds will play at 1500 (not 1415) and the U11B team will be an B/C squad.

Colts A&B v Pinewood will be at HOME, Colts C will be AWAY.

Monday 21st November - Colts B and C squads will be playing 7-a-side fixtures against Ferndale Prep. (H) 2pm.

Wednesday 23rd November - The 2nd XV will be playing Hatherop Castle (H) 2.30pm.

Thursday November 17th Hockey U8A+B v Chandlings will both start at 3.15pm (played across the pitch) and then it will be all finished in good time to be normal home time.

The Annual St Hugh's Book Fair is to be held this year on the following dates:

16th, 17th and 18th November 2011
in the Pre-Prep Hall 3.00pm to 5.00pm
and Upper School Library 4.00pm to 6.00pm

This year, St Hugh's is supporting the 'Ten for Ten' appeal which raises money for Help for Heroes and ABF The Soldiers' Charity. As you know, we recently held a cake sale and we would like to thank all the children in Middle and Upper School who supported this event by purchasing a red, white or blue cake which raised £160. We would also like to thank our catering department for making such scrumptious cakes!

We have also raised £435 through the fundraising element of Art Projects for School through the Christmas Card sales and we will be adding this to the pot for Ten for Ten.

It is our intention that the retiring collection at the Christmas Carol Service is also put towards this appeal. We will inform parents of the total amount raised for Ten for Ten after the Christmas break.

This week Nursery have been investigating the Hindu festival of Diwali. The children learned that Diwali is a festival of light so enjoyed designing clay diva lamps and making yummy Diwali sweets to share. We also watched a video clip of Indian dancing which we tried to copy!

Within our Literacy sessions, the children have spent time looking at the sound 'i' and in Numeracy, we have sung number songs and rhymes that count backwards. We even had time to visit the Sports Hall where we had great fun using all the wooden benches to build a circuit so we could improve our balancing skills.
