Lucy – nationally-ranked heptathlete & just picked to be one of the new Gladiators!

Lucy, who is 19, will be 'Tempest' for the new series of the TV show which will be shown on Sky One next month. She landed the role after intense try-outs.
Lucy holds 4 English schools gold medals, was National Javelin champion 2 years running, has a National Indoor Pentathlon gold and is an Under 17 record holder. Her aim, not surprisingly, is the 2012 Olympics!
Even whilst she was at St Hugh’s, Lucy’s athletic achievements were becoming legendary and she is now on the National Multi-Event squad. Lucy was picked for the UK International against France last July but sadly got appendicitis and couldn’t go. Problems with an ankle injury have hampered her for a while but recent surgery seems to have sorted this out, so watch this space!

Charlotte - playing rugby for England!

THREE YEARS after playing rugby for the first time at Exeter University (where she gained a 1st class honours degree in sports science and has since done a teacher training course), Charlotte is now a member of the elite national squad of 44 girls. Initially she played for the English Universities and was then asked by the Wooden Spoon Society (the charity arm of the RFU) to play in Dubai in the Ladies’ 7s. Before the beginning of this season Charlotte was invited to join the top 100 girl players for 4 training weekends and was then picked for the elite national squad. Just before Christmas, she received a call to say she was wanted to play against USA. She was on the bench for the start of the game but came on with 25 minutes to go and scored in the first 5 minutes. She has since played in 4 matches for the England As, being on from the start in 2 matches against Nomads and a match against Spain in Madrid. In the game against France in Lyons she came on for the last 25 minutes and played in front of a crowd of 10,000! What a season – we wish her continued success.

Kitty – British Eventing - national ranking of 37

Kitty is the first Event rider to represent Great Britain at all four European Levels. Having recently moved to new premises at Lower Stanton St Quinton in Wiltshire, she has wonderful facilities in which to produce and train event horses to the highest level.

With so much to say, the easiest way to check out Kitty’s career is to go to her website: www.kittyboggis.com
