Music in Pre-Prep
All children in Pre-Prep enjoy music lessons and sing for pleasure.

All children take part in the Christmas Nativity plays in which singing and music making is an essential element. Every term each class takes a school assembly: this often includes songs they have been learning in class that are closely associated with their topic work. At the end of the Summer Term, the Year 2 children proudly present a leavers assembly. The Recorder Club for Year 2 is always very popular and takes place once a week.
Children also have the opportunity for individual tuition on a variety of instruments including violin, guitar, piano and drums.
Pre-Prep often invites musicians into school to share their talent, skill and love of music with us. The children also enjoy a pantomime every Christmas. St Hugh’s has its own very talented musicians and orchestra in Upper and Middle School and Pre-Prep are often invited to watch them perform.
