Senior School Registrations Open
We are proud to announce a major new chapter in our 120-year history: the opening of a new Senior School for children to the age of 16. The first cohort of Year 9 pupils will begin in September 2026, with the inaugural group of GCSE students set to complete their studies in 2029. The launch of the Senior School is the result of a long-term strategic review of the local and national educational landscape. With growing demand for high-quality, academically ambitious, and pastorally focused co-educational day schooling, St Hugh’s aims to provide a much-needed option for families in the region.
We are now accepting applications for places from September 2026. Please complete this form to register your child. This is the first step of the admissions process. Our Registrar will be in touch with you upon receipt of your registration form. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Louise Allen, or call 01367 870 700.
David Griffiths, Headmaster, says:

“This is an incredibly exciting step for St Hugh’s. We are building on our strong foundation as a prep school while responding to the clear need for excellent senior education options locally. Our new Senior School will offer the same nurturing environment, high academic standards, and family-focused ethos that our school community values so deeply.”
While expanding our age range, St Hugh’s remains committed to delivering:
• A sector-leading preparatory school experience for children aged 3–13
• Support for 13+ applications to top regional and national senior schools
• A pastoral care system that ensures student wellbeing remains central
• A family-friendly environment without rapid or excessive growth in school size.

From our roots as a small boarding school for boys near London, to our current status as a thriving co-educational prep, St Hugh’s has continually evolved to meet the needs of our pupils and community. The launch of the Senior School marks the next bold step in our journey.
For a more detailed overview of this initiative please see the Strategy 120 booklet, linked below, which outlines the development timeline and location of our new Senior School.
