School receptionist (part time)

Are you a polite and enthusiastic person with excellent administrative skills? If so, we would welcome your application to work at St Hugh’s School, voted Tatler’s ‘Best Prep School 2024’  as a School Receptionist and Administrator.  This role is pivotal as you will act as the first point of contact for parents and visitors to the school as well as supporting colleagues and pupils throughout the school day.

The hours of work are 31.5hrs per week during term time.  Working pattern 8.00am to 1.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8.00am to 6.00pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break on Wednesdays.  In addition, all INSET days and a further two days at the end of each term (six in total), to be worked in the School holidays. 

You will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the school reception, as well as supporting all departments with wider administrative functions.  The successful candidate will be welcomed into an enthusiastic, friendly and hard-working team.

PROPERTY MAINTENANCE APPRENTICESHIP

Start Date: 5th August 2024

Salary: £17,000 - £19,000 per annum depending on skills and experience

St Hugh’s are looking for a talented individual to join the Estates Team as a Property Maintenance Apprentice.  You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship working within our skilled team on a variety of different property maintenance tasks, alongside day release lessons with Abingdon and Witney College in Bicester. 

The property maintenance apprenticeship will support you in building various trade skills.  The role will be varied and include elements of plumbing and electrical work such as maintenance and internal and external site repairs.

tennis academy VACANCY

We are looking for a Level 2 qualified tennis coach to work in the wonderful St Hugh’s school tennis courts environment.

The main focus of the role will be to deliver tennis lessons to the school pupils during their mid-morning and lunch breaks.  Delivery of the after-school tennis clubs and commercial tennis academy plus parent drop off sessions will also be required.

This job is ideal for an experienced tennis coach who can lead on the implementation, delivery and development of a school and local community tennis programme.

Working hours will be spread over 6 days a week during term time and 5 days a week in the holidays and will be subject to change based on demand.  Most of the work will take place during daytime school hours but there will be the occasional regular shift outside this working pattern.

All candidates must have a valid Level 2 tennis coach qualification and previous experience of teaching, along with up-to-date public liability insurance.

 PART TIME MINIBUS DRIVERS

We are recruiting for minibus drivers to transport our pupils from their homes in villages in Oxfordshire into St Hugh’s in Carswell each day and home at the end of the day.

We have two roles currently available covering two different routes for the morning pick up to be at St Hugh’s in time for the start of the school day and at the end of the day to take the pupils home.

Exact hours will be dependent on the route and will be discussed at interview but as a guide will be mornings - 6.45am to 8.15am and evenings 5.15pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday inclusive.

We can offer £13.00 per hour, a friendly and welcoming team to work with and term-time only working (approx. 34 weeks per year).

SWIM SCHOOL VACANCIES

SWIM TEACHERS 

We are looking for Level 2 qualified swimming teachers to work in the wonderful pool facility at St Hugh’s.

Whilst the swim school operates on the following days and times (during term time on a weekly basis ) we are specifically looking for teachers available on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Monday: 15:45 – 18:50

Tuesday: 17:35 – 19:35 (From Sept 24)

Wednesday: 15:45 – 18:50

Thursday: 19:00 – 21:00

Friday: 15:45 – 18:20

Saturday: 10:00 - 13:00

Sunday: 13:30 – 16:30

There is also the potential for additional work over the holiday periods as well as during school term time depending on demand.  We also offer the option for you to hire the pool on Sunday mornings 08:30 – 12:30 or Thursday evenings 19:00 – 21:00 and bring your own clients for 1:1 lessons (subject to availability). 

All candidates must have a valid Level 2 swimming teacher qualification and previous experience of teaching, along with up-to-date public liability insurance.  The salary will be £26.63 per hour on a self-employed basis or £21.30 per hour on a contract.
